Snowing. It is snowing!!!

I studied in Bilbao. I used to go by bus everyday to University. This crane is one of the things I remember from the old Bilbao. It has changed a lot in the last 15 years. Everytime I pass near it, it reminds me arriving in Bilbao, the first day of class, afraid of the new place, without knowing exactly what I was going to study and which my future will be. Now, years after, sometimes I find myshelf with the same feelings, looking at that crane with the same eyes.
Bilbon ikasi nuen. Autobusean joaten nintzen egunero Unibertsitatera. Garabi hau betidanik dago hor eta Bilbo zaharra burura ekarten dit. Asko aldatu da azken 15 urtetan. Handik pasatzen naizen bakoitzean unibertsitateko lehen eguna etorten jat burura. Leku berria, ia zer ikasi behar nuen jakin gabe, zer etorriko zenaren beldur. Eta urteak pasa izanda ere, batzutan nere burua berdin sentitzen diat, garabiari aintzinako begi berdinekin begira.

On Saturday the sea was brave. Today it is snowing. For the first time. All the white that breaks is falling. It is grey, dark and snowing.
Larunbatean itsasoa zakar zegoen. Gaur elurra dau jausten. Lehenengo aldiz. Apurtutako zuri guztia erortzen ari da. Gris, ilun eta elurretan.
El sábado el mar estaba furioso. Hoy está nevando. Por primera vez. Todo el blanco roto, cae. Está gris, oscuro y nieva.

Christmas gifts

Some years ago I travelled to Poland. I bought some amber stones in Gdánsk. There is one stone left, and we are thinking to ask to made a brooch. My mum wants something special so asked me to design it. I started drawing last night...nothing interesting...Any ideas?
Orain urte batzuk Poloniatik ibili ginen uda baten. Gdánsk-en ambar harri batzuk erosi nituen. Oraindik bat geratzen da eta brotze bat egin diezaguten pentsatu degu. Amak zeozer berezia nahi du, eta diseinatzeko eskatu dit. Atzo gauean marrazten hasi nintzen...baina ezer ez...ideiarik?

And I continue hand sewing a gift for my mum. Jumping from work to work...hoping to be in time.
Eta eskuz josten jarraitzen diat amaren oparia. Lan batetik bestera saltoka...denboran amaitzearen esperantzarekin.

City sunday morning

I love to walk round the city on Sunday mornings. They have something special. The city is quite silence and few people wander round. It is like having all the city for you.
Igande goizeetan hiritik galtzea gustoko diat. Zeozer berezia du. Hiria erdi ixilik dago eta jende gutxi topa dezakezu bidean.

But this sunday has been special. I went to Estibaliz. It is a romanic church just 15 km far from Vitoria. Two friends of mine got married there, but the most beautiful image of it is that I used to come here to draw. Sitting in a camping chair, with classmates trying to discover all the secrets of the arches.
Igandea berezia izan da. Estibalizea joan ginen. Txikitan honera etorten ginen marraztera, kanping aulki batean, portadaren arkuek duten misterioa deskubritu nahiean.
El domingo fue diferente. Fuimos a Estibaliz.

Love the details of each arch. The little representations in the columns. They are part of my childhood. So I always try to look at it with those eyes. I think my mum keeps the drawings at home.
Maite ditut arko bakoitzeko detaileak. Kolumnetako errepresentazioak. Nire haurtzaroko parte dira. Eta beti begi haregaz begiratzea gustetan jat. Amak marrazkiak gordetzen dituela uste dut.

Working and giveaway gift

I made ceramics when I was a child. My mum sent us, my brother and I, to classes on saturday mornings. To keep us far from home and let her do something. And this year I have started again. I am a bit out of inspiration.
Zeramikara joan nintzen txikia nintzenean. Amak, anaia eta biok, klaseetara bidaltzen zizkigun larunbat goizeetan. Bakarrik hutz genezan. Aurten, berriro hasi naiz, baina inspirazioa beste nonbait laga det.

And this is the giveaway gift. It is a leather "pot". Hand dyed, hand sewed and hand everything. Useful for lots of things, like keeping knitting goods, or brushes, or whatever you can imagine. Or if you put a glass inside, it can be used as a vase.
Eta hau da giveawayko oparia. Larruzko potea. Eskuz tintatua, eskuz josia eta eskuz guztia. Gauza askotarako erabil daiteke, punto egiteko orratzak gordetzeko, pintzelak eukitzeko edo barruan baso bat ipini eskero, florero giza.
Hope you like and write more comments just to take part.

Corner view: favorite dish

On Saturday morning we decided to do something different. It was raining and raining so we "took" a train to lunch.
Larunbat goizean zeozer ezberdina egitea erabaki genuen. Euria zen mara mara eta tren bat "hartzea" erabaki genuen bazkaltzeko.

We sat inside. In this old seats, look arround in a calm atmosphere and see how it was raining outside.
Barnean eseri ginen. Leku zaharberritu hauetan, inguruko giro lasaia dastatu genuen eta nola kanpoan euria zen begiratu.

And have lunch. My favourite dish. It is the one I "ask" mum to make when I come home after travelling. Fried eggs, chips, fried jam or bacon and croquette. It is like a colesterol bomb, but sometimes I need something like this.
Eta bazkaldu genduen. Nire platerrik gustokoena. Hau izaten da kanpoan egon ta gero amari eskatzen diodan platerra. Arraultza prejiruak, patata eta urdaiazpikoarekin. Kolesterol bomba da, baina batzutan gorputzak eskatzen dit.
Y comimos. Me pedí mi plato preferido.

Photos are taken in "Cafetería W.L." in Alsasua.

It´s raining leaves

Leaves everywhere. Leaves of every and all colours.
Ostoak nonahi. Kolore guzti eta denetakoak.

Travelling under my feet. Going by. Where?
Nire hanka azpian bidaiatzen. Nora dihoaz?
Pasan bajo mis pies. Con qué destino?

It has been a grey, rainy and windy weekend. Nothing to do outside. Less inside. Just sit with a blanket, some coffee and with the light of candles. Just seen how it rains. Relaxing view of the water falling. And finishing them. Today they come with me to work. It was not very cold...but have to.
Astebukaera grisa, euritsua eta airetsua izan da. Ezer ez kanpoan. Gutxiago barnean. Eseri, manta ta kafearekin, kandela argitan. Nola euria erortzen den. Uraren erorketa lasaia. Eta hauek amaitzen. Gaur nirekin etorri dira lanera.

Bathroom before&after

Once I started showing how the house changed after the work. I think I show the kitchen, so now here is the bath. You can find the before of the bathroom here.
Behingo baten, etxea nola aldatzen joan zen erakutsi nizuen. Lehenik sukaldea eta orain komuna. Komuneko argazki zaharrak hemen daude.

And here are the after ones. It is quite difficult to make good photos, the bathroom is quite tiny. You can see the super shower that I adore. It is like having shower under rain.
Eta hemen daude ondorengoaren argazkiak. Nahiko zaila da argazki onak ateratzea, komun txikia da ta. Dutxa ikusten da, izugarri maite diat, euri azpian dutxatzea modukoa bait da.

Music: Singing in the rain.

Have a great weekend.

Corner view: Contrast

These are some old photos I took with a reflex camera during a photo course. They are made in Elciego, in Marqués de Riscal. I like these photos for the contrast they have. Black and white. An old vinery with a modern view.
Hauek argazki zahar batzuk dira, reflex kamerakin atereak, argazki kurso bateko parte bezala. Elciegon eginak dira, Marqués de Riscalen. Argazkiak maite ditut, duten kontrasteagatik. Zuri beltz berezia. Eta bodega zahar eta modernoaren arteko kontrastea.
Blanco y negro. Una vieja bodega y la parte moderna.

New at home

Wandering in Madrid I found a little shop called Nest. I could not resist to buy this little girl for my bedroom. I loved the colours, the bright red hair.
Madriletik bueltaka, Nest izeneko denda topatu nuen. Ezin izan nuen ezetzik esan eta ondoko neskatoa erosi nuen gelarako. Maite ditut koloreak eta bere hile gorria.

We found a little paradise of biscuits and candies in the middle of Toledo. It is a french shop. I could have bought half the shop, the metal vintage boxes, the biscuits...but I have a rational attack and only bought this little box, for the kitchen. Just to keep my sweets in hand.
Gaileta eta golosina paradisua topatu genuen Toledo erdian. Denda frantsesa omen da. Eta nahiz eta denda erdia eramatekotan egon, azkenean metalezko kutxa bat soilik erosi nuen. Sukalderako. Gozokiak eskura edukitzeko.
